January 27, 2026)Dr. Cao Shilei stated that the laboratory has long been committed to the research on the application of big data and artificial intelligence in supply chains, and has achieved a number of results with industrialization prospects. He expressed expectations for cooperating with Sili Group to facilitate the implementation of scientific research achievements in practical scenarios.
The Digital Intelligent Supply Chain Laboratory of USTC is a top-tier scientific research force in this field in China. After years of development, the laboratory has established a complete scientific research and transformation system covering 'theory-algorithm-system-application'. It adopts methods such as machine learning and operations research optimization for modeling and problem-solving, and embeds the achievements into enterprise systems in the form of software and modules to promote engineering implementation.
The laboratory boasts a large-scale, high-level talent team with prominent international characteristics: currently, it has 221 faculty members and students, including 45 permanent supervisors. Among the supervisors are 2 Cheung Kong Scholars Distinguished Professors, 2 National Distinguished Young Scholars, 2 National Outstanding Young Scientists, and 10 National Excellent Young Scientists; 19 are professors, 16 are associate professors/associate researchers, and 10 supporting researchers are also employed. Additionally, the laboratory has 15 postdoctoral researchers, 78 doctoral students and 83 master's students in residence. Furthermore, it has appointed 5 international adjunct professors, including top international/renowned experts in fields such as warehousing, operations research optimization and operations management (e.g., Rene de Koster), providing strong support for interdisciplinary research and international cooperation.
